When we first thought of the idea of beading a cell phone case or pouch, we knew we had to show how to give it modern style without it appearing like the beaded purses we all had as little girls. This is our beautiful final product!
We measured the phone and sewed an appropriately sized pouch made out of buckskin (~$0.80) – a material great for bead embroidery. Then, using right angle weave, we stitched the bead embellishment separate from the pouch staying within our measurements. We used 6mm firepolished rounds in Goldenrod and Hematite and 6lb Fireline in Smoke ($7.95). Once our beads were finished, we sewed the beaded embellishment on by “catching” the thread between the beads. Then, enjoy the beautiful new accessory that you have created!
